Org Chart
[thank you for reminding me, Mary-Ellen!]
I have gotten some questions from you all about the roles/responsibilities/org chart and it came up at this morning's workshop; I've been lax in just getting some information out. In the spirit of self-awareness, I know that I sometimes feel that I have to have all of the answers and details before sharing anything and I'm trying hard to break that behavior. I appreciate reminders!
I got input on a reconfigured org chart way back when (was that really 2020?) which led to the creation of the Digital Services Librarian position and the Head of Youth Services position. It also brought in the position of what I was calling Remote Adult Services. In part, we needed to update the org chart before we hired a new Assistant Director. Maybe you remember a couple of iterations with various reporting structures since then. And then in this budget season we added the page positions.
I neglected to do any follow-up/finalization with everyone on this. I apologize. We have new/updated job descriptions for each of the four new/reconfigured positions which can be found here: https://www.library.strathamnh.gov/staff. The rest of our job descriptions should also be reviewed and updated. Courtney and Scott are finalizing a Page job description now.
The org chart looks like this:
Hello, Courtney here! Question about the pages: I was under the impression that the two new pages would be doing the entire library. As a result, it seems like they should both fall under the circ/adult services. Curious to hear thoughts!
ReplyDeleteGood catch! Yes, those positions should be shifted over. I also have some job description updates to do...
